This course is primarily intended for those who have successfully completed a Level 2 qualification and who wish to build a career in the motor trade.
All full-time learners will be expected to attend skills sessions as well as their chosen vocational course. You will also be asked to attend tutorial sessions as part of your full-time course timetable.
What Will I Learn?
This vocational course enables you to build on existing knowledge and experience and use a combination of theory and practice to study for the three key units:
• Diagnose and rectify vehicle engine and component faults in workshop environment • Diagnose and rectify vehicle electrical and component faults in workshop environment • Diagnose and rectify vehicle transmission and component faults in workshop environment
All learning takes place in the industry, assessed by highly qualified workplace assessors. The course is work placement, which you will need to arrange, and this will give you invaluable hands-on experience.
Successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification. You will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.
There is a combination of assessment methods including a workshop-based practical portfolio developed by you throughout the year and on-line knowledge tests at the end of each module.
