At the end of this course you will have developed a range of skills including:
• Make-up Application and Design for Performance • Hair Styling and Dressing for Performers • Production Units to include working on live productions • Period Hair and period Make-Up • Special Effects Make-up and Prosthetic Application • Fantasy hair Dressing • Body Art
5 GCSEs at grades A*- C in English/Welsh and Maths or a Level 2 diploma in a related subject at Merit grade or above including literacy and numeracy at Level 2 or above. You will be invited to attend an interview with a portfolio of your work. You will also be required to undertake an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.

There is continuous assessment throughout the course for practical and written assignments. All units are internally assessed and externally moderated. On successful completion of this qualification an overall grade is given of Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Diplomas are valued by employers and higher Education Institutes, (Universities and colleges) Progression on to the HND Creative Production Arts (Make-Up Pathway) at Coleg Y Cymoedd followed by the BA (Hons) TV and Film: Hair, Make-up and Special Effects (Top up Year) Employment opportunities exist within the ever expanding Creative Industries (TV and Film) within South Wales.
