You will study English Literature, Sociology, Psychology and Law, all at Level 3. You will also study Communication, Oral Presentation Skills and Study Skills at Level 3, and Numeracy at Level 2. A range of units is studied for each subject area.
You will require GCSE Welsh / English Language and GCSE Maths/Numeracy grades A*-C or Essential Skills Wales Numeracy and Communication level 2 or Skills for Further Study diploma completion or a Level 2 vocational qualification.
You will be assessed by continuous assessment with at least one unseen controlled assessment in each subject area. Assignments are graded Pass, Merit, or Distinction. You will also be expected to maintain your course files and all portfolios to the required standards.
After successfully completing this course, you will be able to apply for Honours degree courses in Higher Education in a wide range of Humanities and Social Science based courses or seek employment. Degree opportunities include: teaching, social work, police studies, housing, youth work, probation, criminology, counselling and therapeutic practices, as well as Law, Sociology, Psychology and English.
