You will gain a broad understanding of business and have an opportunity to apply your learning in a practical way. Some of the BTEC units of study are Exploring Business, Marketing, Personal and Business Finance, Managing an event, Recruitment and Selection and pitching for a new business. You will also gain confidence through developing independent learning skills and will be able to apply these skills to periods of work experience.
You will require 5 GCSEs at grades A*- C or a Level 2 related vocational qualification including English/Welsh and Maths/Numeracy.
You will be invited to attend an interview. During this interview you will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.
Assessment is mostly via internal assessments in the form of assignments and practical work with some controlled externally set assessments and exams.
After successfully completing this course, you could progress on to the Extended Diploma in Business or seek employment in Accounting, Marketing and Trainee Management. After completing the Extended Diploma in Business you will be able to apply for Honours degree courses in Higher Education in a wide range of Business courses.
