Where are you now?: Freelance photography career working with musicians producing portraits for event and artist promotion
"After graduation I will be moving to Cardiff to peruse a freelance photography career working with musicians producing portraits for event and artist promotion.
The step from school to University seemed like a very big one to me. I didn’t think I was quite ready to take that step and I wasn’t 100% sure on the subject that I wanted to study. Foundation was the best thing I could have hoped for as a bridge between school and university. It really took the pressure off making work that school imposed. Foundation allowed me to be creative and experiment without worry of failure. It taught me to enjoy new things even if the outcome wasn’t what I had hoped for and opened my eyes to a new way of learning.
The structure of the year helped me to focus on the subject I wanted to study after foundation. I had great support from the tutors when putting my portfolio together for University which really boosted my confidence for the interviews. My final project was the first body of work that I was really proud of and I still have it on my website now. I’m so grateful to have met so many likeminded people during Foundation, it was the best year of education I have had. I’ve recommended the course to many friends and would to anyone wanting to study an artistic subject at university."
