The Welsh Rugby Union is the governing body of rugby union in Wales. The WRU holds the responsibility of running rugby throughout Wales. We do this this by supporting and developing our 320 member clubs to ensure there is a ‘jersey for all’. Within those clubs, our business and our national projects there are 1000’s of opportunities to volunteer and work. They range from coaching, physiotherapy, refereeing or to club operations and club management to name a few. There is a possibility for anyone and everyone to become involved.
Volunteering - many of the professional staff we have working within the WRU have done some form of volunteering within rugby in Wales before becoming employed with us. The opportunities for paid work range from supporting the performance department in ensuring that all our national teams are at the peak of their performance, through to our stadium and commercial staff who ensure that the stadium is working at its optimal level for all the events and games we host.
The WRU Rugby Development Apprenticeship Programme provides people with recognised qualifications, new skills, knowledge and a wealth of experience working as a Rugby Development Apprentice.
To find out more about volunteering and apprenticeships join us at Coleg y Cymoedd FutureFest 20th May.
