What course did you study at Coleg y Cymoedd?
Health & Social Care Level 3
What made you decide to study at Coleg y Cymoedd?
The college was close to my home, with free public transport provided and I had heard positive things about the course that I wanted to study.
Why did you choose to study this course?
I wanted to pursue a career in Nursing and chose to study on a BTEC vocational course instead of A levels; due to it being coursework, with no exams.
What are the benefits of studying at Coleg y Cymoedd?
The Tutors are very supportive and accommodating and the resources in the college, such as textbooks are great. Also due to the layout of the college there are lots of places to study and do work at the college.
What do you intend to do next/what are you doing now that you have left?
I am going to Camp America, New York for two months in the summer, where I will work at a Salvation Army Camp with underprivileged children. Following the Camp, I am going to live in Alberta, Canada for 12 months to be employed as an au pair.
How is the course helping you achieve your ambitions?
The course has given me the experience, knowledge and confidence to achieve my ambitions. Looking to the future the course will also enable me to progress to university to study Nursing.
How will studying impact on your life?
The course has made me more confident and the work placements organised by the college also give you the experience when working with vulnerable people. It has also given me more options as it has enabled me to become an au pair and made me realise what I want to do in the future.
Would you recommend this college and this course to others?
Yes! The course is really interesting and the tutors are amazing. They are so supportive and accommodating. I wouldn’t have got D*D*D* without their help. They were also very friendly and helpful.
