Angharad Evans - Media Solicitor
Angharad is a solicitor working in-house with S4C, the Welsh language broadcaster, specialising in legal matters that affect the media industry and S4C’s business in general. In her day to day work she manages a team of 10 people and deals with negotiating and advising on contracts, copyright law and other legal issues arising from content in programmes.
Before joining S4C, Angharad trained in a Cardiff law firm and then went to work in a law firm in London specialising in film finance where one of the highlights was to go on work trips to the Cannes Film Festival. Before getting the job in film finance, Angharad didn’t have experience of film finance, but at interview showed that she was a quick learner and had other relevant experience to bring to the new job.
In order to get a training contract to be a solicitor, at interview Angharad spoke about a number of part-time jobs that she had experienced including waitressing, working as a bailiff’s clerk, pub work, hotel cleaning, factory work and voluntary work, all of which provided real examples of taking responsibility and showing initiative.
Angharad is a mum of two children and spends her time socialising with friends, laughing and dancing (generally to embarrass the kids). Angharad also loves visiting different countries and chatting to people from all walks of life.
