Catherine May

Catherine has built a career in the not for profit sector. She is currently working for the Chartered Institute of Housing Cymru as the Project Manager for a new piece of work developing research and policy into housing and homelessness in Wales.

She started her career at Oxfam GB, working in their UK Poverty Programme, then at MIND as part of the team setting up the national Time to Change programme. She then worked for the Equality and Human Rights Commission as the Head of Investigations and Inquiries and then as the Head of External Affairs in Wales. She works with politicians and other influential people encouraging them to listen to the voices of people who are not always represented in public debates. She is committed to supporting women, girls and people with mental health problems.

In her spare time, Catherine is a trained run leader with Sport Wales who regularly supports people getting into running and fitness, sometimes for the first times in their lives.

She has 2 daughters and loves seeing the women they are turning into!
