Applications to Higher Education Institutions
It is very important that you research your chosen universities very carefully if you are planning to go on to Higher Education in the near future You should make an appointment with a Careers Adviser if you are unsure about your choice of course(s).
During the Autumn term, your course tutor will give you information about the UCAS application system and can arrange for your campus’s UCAS Co-ordinator to give a presentation on the ‘Apply’ system.
Applying early gives you a better chance of getting a place where you want to go. Applications are now made electronically via the Internet at www.ucas.com/apply. You will be given a “buzzword” which identifies you as a Coleg y Cymoedd learner.
We advise you check the UCAS website frequently for updates www.ucas.com
It is very important that you attend the group talks organised by your UCAS Co-ordinator. You will receive all the necessary materials and information at these talks to help you complete your application forms.
During the year, various talks and seminars will take place and you should watch College notice boards for information about these events. The UCAS Co-ordinator and your tutor can direct you to the location of appropriate resources to support you further.
