What a fantastic accolade for Rhys and well deserved. He is an exemplary learner who gives ‘his all’ to each task set. Rhys achieves consistently high grades. He completed his Level 2 course with a Distinction* and has carried on this work ethic to the first year of his Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT. In addition he has developed valuable employability skills which will stand him in good stead for the future.

K3FDS are a software solutions provider based in Nantgarw, Cardiff. We work with some great vendors such as Sage and Qlik and we are proud to work with amazing businesses such as the Wales Millennium Centre. With an active presence in the Welsh business community we also work with local colleges such as Coleg y Cymoedd providing opportunities for young people to get first-hand experience of working in the IT world.

We have been working with Coleg y Cymoedd for the last 2 years and the students who we have worked with have been outstanding. Hopefully the time they spend with us will compliment the classroom education the college provides, giving them an insight into the working environment.

Rhys Keedwell who joined us recently had a specific interest in managed services, we were able to give him a project reviewing a variety of laptops at various states of repair, he worked through them determining hardware suitability, including suitable AC Adapters and whether the batteries were able to hold charge, as well as reviewing the software on the laptop. The software review included versions and licensing of the Operating Systems. Rhys was very thorough with the checks and the documentation he produced around the checks.

It is very encouraging that the college are educating the students with skills that can be used locally in the future.
