What do I teach

I teach Travel and Tourism, Welsh Baccalaureate and work skills for Cabin Crew

What is your greatest achievement during your time with us?

My greatest achievement has been taking students on overseas trips where they have learnt about different cultures and languages and explored places of interest. Some student haven't experienced flying or visited an overseas place before and helping them to overcome any fears or worries and to enjoy the trip is an achievement for the whole team. We have climbed Pen y Fan and been in the London Dungeons which have also proven to be achievement for all involved.

Before joining Coleg y Cymoedd I worked in the private sector as a Transport Planner, helping to design highway schemes, carrying out feasibility studies for new roads and public consultation activities. I also specialised in school road safety working with all age groups to improve routes to school and to education people on the dangers surrounding school. I have also worked as a playworker for the voluntary sector GAVO where I worked with families in the local area to help them overcome many of societies issues. Along with this I have been a Girlguiding leader for 20 years. These various job roles has helped me to understand young people from many different aspects which I feel helps me to bring a more rounded view to education.
