“A year ago I had no idea how beneficial this course would be for me, to see how everything has fallen into place I can see how lucky I have been and how hard work pays off. A massive thanks to my tutors who helped me along the way”.
“There’s no doubt that without the opportunity to undertake an Apprenticeship I would not be in the position I am in today. It has provided me with a unique experience of working in a very skilled and technical industry. It has also put me on a career path that I’m not only enjoying, but provides far more opportunities for training, development and promotion than I would have had through any other route into work.”

Hannah Colston Apprentice Industrial & Logistics at JLL Cardiff said: “I am currently undertaking a two year apprenticeship at surveying firm JLL, whilst studying one day a week at the Coleg y Cymoedd Nantgarw campus. Whilst at the college, I am working towards achieving a BTEC Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment. I have just finished my first year of the course and have been predicted to achieve a Distinction star grade.”
“The main units that I have covered this year are Mathematics, Science, Sustainability, Building Technology, Project Management and Measuring, Estimating and Tendering. The knowledge that I have gained from my course, coupled with my practical experience from work, has allowed me to become a competent apprentice within the surveying industry."
Chris Sutton, Lead Director at JLL Cardiff said: “We have enjoyed a strong working relationship with Coleg y Cymoedd, as we created our first apprenticeship post in Cardiff. Professional services firms have not traditionally appointed apprentices however our experience has been a good one with Hannah making a positive contribution to our business.”
“The introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy is intended to become a driver for the creation of further apprenticeships and I would encourage professional services firms affected by this levy to actively explore this option.”
Hannah is currently working hard at improving the website entries for various properties we are instructed to market and is seeking to improve our digital footprint generally. Hannah is responsible for a range of duties within the office ranging from office administration through to participation in on-site inspections, measurement and drawing up of marketing particulars.
