Overview

This 5-day course offers a thorough introduction to networking, focusing on the installation, configuration, and management of IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Participants gain hands-on experience with switches, routers, and wireless LAN controllers, while also learning to identify basic security threats. The course includes an overview of AI and machine learning in network operations and prepares learners for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) 200-301 exam. Some additional study with labs may be required.

  • Full-time carer,
  • Prisoner on day release

Entry requirements

There are no formal prerequisites for enrolling the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) course or taking the 200-301 exam. However, it is recommended that participants have:

  • A basic understanding of computer networks
  • Some experience with IP addressing and network fundamentals
  • Completion of CompTIA Network+ or equivalent knowledge is helpful but not compulsory

This background helps learners grasp the technical concepts more effectively during the course.

Assessment

Closed book multiple choice style exam lasting 120mins. Pass mark is 825 (on a scale of 300-1000)

Career progression

After earning the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification, professionals can begin careers as network support specialists, network technicians, or junior network administrators. With expereince and further certifications like CompTIA Security+, or CCNP, they can advance to roles such as network engineer, systems engineer, or IT infrastructure specialist. Over time, this can lead to senior positions like network architect, IT manager, or solutions architect.

Course dates will be discussed directly with the training provider upon successful completion of funding application. Any course dates arranged with the training provider prior to funding being secured may not be honoured – Course dates will only be confirmed once funding has been approved.
