Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

This course provides a broad basis of study for the electrical/electronic engineering sector. It has been designed to support progression to higher education, employment, and an apprenticeship.

We have developed the content of the course in collaboration with employers and representatives from higher education and relevant professional bodies. In this way, we have ensured that content is up to date and that it includes the knowledge, understanding, skills and attributes required in the sector.

This course is designed for learners who are interested in a career in the electrical/electronic engineering sector and want to progress to further study in the sector. Learners will take a practical, applied engineering course as part of their Level 3 study programme, which gives them an introduction to the sector.

All full-time learners will be expected to attend skills sessions as well as their chosen vocational course. You will also be asked to attend tutorial sessions as part of your full-time course timetable.

What Will I Learn?

You will learn:

• Engineering Principles
• Delivery of Engineering Processes Safely as a Team
• Engineering Product Design and Manufacture
• Electronic Devices and Circuits
• Assembling and Testing Electronic Circuits (PEO)

Entry Requirements

You will require 5 A* - C grades at GCSE including Maths, English Language/Welsh (First Language) and Science or a Level 2 qualification with an appropriate selection of units. You will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.
