Sign Language
British Sign Language (BSL) is the first or preferred language of an estimated 70,000 Deaf people in the UK. In March 2003, BSL was recognised by the Government as a language in its own right. BSL is a visual-gestural language, with its own grammar and principles, which are completely different from the grammatical structure of English. We offer qualifications in Sign Language at Level 1 and Level 2.
Welsh
The Welsh language is being increasingly heard in the media, on the street, in the workplace and amongst children. Maybe you’ve already been learning Welsh for a few years, or you have just made the decision to learn. Whatever your reasons, Coleg y Cymoedd can help you to improve or start your path to becoming a confident Welsh Speaker.
GCSEs
GCSEs are the main qualification taken by 14 to 16 year olds, but are available to anyone who would like to study a subject that interests them. GCSEs are highly valued by schools, colleges and employers, so will be useful whatever you are planning to do afterwards.
