Nantgarw

Acorns Nursery, a privately run nursery, working in partnership with Coleg y Cymoedd at our Nantgarw campus.

The state of the art 72 place nursery features a spacious garden with covered and open play areas to ensure children benefit from outdoor play whatever the weather. Inside, our spacious playrooms offer areas for quiet times, imagination and exploration and are furnished with the highest quality toys and equipment to stimulate little minds.

Acorns Nantgarw is open from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, caring for children from 6 weeks to 5 years. Please feel free to visit the nursery at any time or telephone (029) 20 382009 for further information.

Ystrad Mynach

With regret, and after careful consideration and consultation, we announce the closure the nursery on the Ystrad Mynach campus from the end of this academic year (31 July 2024). Before taking this decision, we explored different models with the nursery management to determine whether we could adopt a more flexible approach to the provision.

With the decline in demand for places and rising costs, we concluded that it is no longer financially viable to continue sustaining the losses for a non-core service.

The feedback we received during the consultation process emphasised the value and appreciation the college and wider community have for the provision. We wholeheartedly agree and are grateful to the dedicated staff for their commitment and for the high-quality childcare they have provided for the past 29 years.
