Level 2 Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

Learners: What to expect

  • The course is made up of the VCQ (Vocational Competence Qualification), which is mainly based in the workplace with your employer, 4 days a week, and the Technical Certificate which is based in college, combining the workshop and classroom, 1 day a week
  • You will have a dedicated assessor to support you and will be assessed on your practical skills and knowledge
  • Develop your practical skills and knowledge to a competent level, and develop your communication, numeracy and digital literacy skills
  • Access to resources to support your learning and wellbeing

Employer role

  • Provide opportunities for the apprentice to engage in work activities that support the requirements of the qualification
  • Attend regular progress review meetings to support and monitor the apprentice’s ongoing development
  • Allocate the learner time to attend training sessions and complete studies
  • Engage with an assessor to support the learning journey

Duration

  • 22 months

Entry requirements

  • Age 16+
  • Working in a motor vehicle maintenance / repair environment
  • Achieved / working towards relevant Maths, English and Digital Literacy Skills

Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

Learners: What to expect

  • The course is a continuation / progression from the Level 2 but can also be accessed by new learners if you have the relevant experience or previous qualifications
  • The course is structured the same as the Level 2, 4 days a week with your employer completing the VCQ part of the qualification, 1 days a week at college completing the Technical Certificate consisting of Workshop and Classroom
  • You will have a dedicated assessor to support you and will be assessed on your practical skills and knowledge
  • Develop your practical skills and knowledge to a competent level, and develop your communication, numeracy and digital literacy skills
  • Access to resources to support your learning and wellbeing
