the placement enhanced programme
The Placement Enhanced Programme allows work placements to be introduced to academic full-time programmes that do not already have compulsory work experience.
The programme supports learners’ career goals by encouraging them to develop their employability skills and raise their aspirations, with the placements offering learners meaningful and hands-on work experience.
Learners will be aged 16+ and in our full-time provision, completing either a foundation, level 2 or level 3 qualification.
Learners who join the programme will be eager to develop their workplace and employability skills, gain evidence for their CVs, have the opportunity to apply their practical and theoretical knowledge learnt during their course and, ultimately, raise their aspirations and career goals.
To be eligible for the programme, the placement must be unpaid, based in Wales, organised by the college and relevant to the course the learner is undertaking. The placement must support the learner to be more self-aware of their skills development.
The placement must be between 25 – 100 hours (across an agreed timeframe) outside of term time or during half-term.
During the placement, learners should have a specific role that allows them to develop practical skills relevant to their course, and are exposed to the day to day running of the business.
You will have up to date health and safety risk assessments completed with the nominated college personnel.
If you would like to support our learners through the programme, please complete our short form here or speak with a member of the team.
Through the Placement Enhanced Programme, you can support as many learners as you deem possible. If you have any queries, please speak with a member of the team.

The Gateway to Employment programme is designed to support our learners with additional learning needs and/or disabilities gain employability skills and experience to prepare them for life after college.
All learners supported through the programme will be aged 16-24 and in their final year of education.
Learners will be required to complete 2-4 days per week at the work place, with placements expected to run from September to June. A job coach will be on-hand to support the learner directly whilst in the work place, to minimise pressure on workplace staff. Through this partnership, we aim to promote inclusivity in the workplace.
