The course allows the learners build the knowledge, understanding and skills they need for career progression or further study.
For the BTEC Award in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, the learner will study: Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace Communications for Engineering Technicians Mathematics for Engineering Technicians Mechanical Principles of Engineering Systems Computer-aided Drafting in Engineering Industrial Robot Technology
5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths (Grade B), Science and English or Welsh first language) or a Level 2 qualification with the appropriate selection of units.
For progressing Coleg y Cymoedd learners - A merit/distinction in L2 Diploma in Engineering Technologies and a distinction grade in Unit 35 Applied Mathematics and you must have a minimum C grade in English Language or Maths by the end of your course.

On successful completion of this course previous learners have progressed into careers in many engineering disciplines. Many learners progress onto level 3 Diplomas in Engineering. There is a clear route through to incorporated and chartered status. Level 3 Diplomas are valued by employers and higher education institutions.
