ReAct Plus
ReAct+ can help get back into employment as quickly as possible after redundancy. The scheme is part of the Welsh Government’s Young Person’s Guarantee.
What can ReAct+ help with?
You’ll get a package of tailored support to help remove barriers to employment. This might include:
- Financial support.
- Skills training.
- Personal development support.
- Support with mental health, confidence building, language skills and more.
Financial support from ReAct+
Depending on your circumstances, you might be able to claim:
- Up to £1,500 for the cost of training.
- Up to £2100 to help cover childcare and caring costs while you’re in training.
- Up to £200 of extra support towards other training-related costs, like travel and accommodation.

Eligibility for ReAct+support
To be eligible for ReAct+ support you must be:
- Aged 20+.
- A resident in Wales with a right to live and work in the UK.
You must also meet one of the following criteria:
- You are under formal notice of redundancy.
- You have been made redundant within the last six months.
- You are an ex-offender or an offender serving a community sentence.
ReAct+ for employers
As an employer, you can claim help with wages and job-related training for a prospective employee under the ReAct+ scheme.
You could claim up to £4,000 towards the employee’s wages in their first year working for you.
To be eligible for the support your prospective employee:
- Must not have worked for at least six weeks when they apply to you.
- Must not start working for you until the support is approved.
