This course aims to develop your confidence, introduce you to new creative experiences and look into the practical and technical side of the arts and media professions. The course offers many creative experiences with access to excellent facilities to help develop your skills. The aim on completion is for learners to access a level 1 course in Creative Media/IT.
This course is aimed at learners who have a desire to develop their creative skills, such as, art, music, graphics, illustration, creative writing, film, editing and photography.
You should be working at Entry Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy, working towards E3 qualifications.
Once you have applied, you will be invited to attend an interview, and undertake a short assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required.
What will I study?
The course is split into individual units, adding up to an Entry 3 OCR diploma qualification in Creative Media.
The course is varied with a number of exciting units such as;
o writing for a magazine, blog or newspaper,
o designing, making and exhibiting art and photography projects,
o using different creative software, among which we will be exploring stop motion animation,
o introducing editing software and much more.
Additional qualifications include the Essential Skills Wales in Communications and Numeracy at Entry 3.
How will I be assessed?
Your work will be assessed by a range of methods, including a collection of completed units, portfolios and practical observations.

You will be invited to attend a summer school that is intended to introduce you to college life and the other learners in your class.
