This course will give you the opportunity to explore all aspects of digital photography, through practical work and by experiencing a wide range of multi-media technology.
Although there are no formal entry requirements for this course, all applicants will be interviewed and you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to study at level 3 and have previous knowledge of, and interest in, Photography. A good knowledge of using a camera and applying its different settings is essential and having the capability to study at Higher Educational level, normally through the achievement of qualifications at level 3.
What will I study?
You will study: Generating ideas, Presenting ideas, Introduction to Digital Photography, Skills for academic study, Digital Photography in Context 1, Landscape photography, Photographing people, Managing a project, Financing a project, Digital Photography in Context 2, Studio practice & development, Final major project (Digital Photography), Employability & enterprise work-based learning project and Work-based learning portfolio.
How will I be assessed?
There is a combination of assessment methods including portfolio evidence, practical demonstrations and written assignments.
Career Opportunities and Progression
On successful completion of this course you could move onto the 'top up' to a full Honours Degree in Photography. On successful completion of this course you will be receive a University of South Wales award.
