I’m sure you will have seen the Prime Minister’s latest update on Coronavirus yesterday evening, explaining that we are now moving from a ‘containment’ phase to a ‘delay’ phase. One of the key announcements was that people are now being asked to ‘self-isolate’ (i.e. stay at home) for 7 days from when they develop symptoms of Coronavirus.
The two key symptoms of coronavirus infection include
1. A high temperature
2 A new continuous cough
If you feel that this applies to you – please use the NHS Direct Wales Self-Assessment Symptom Checker . If from that you determine that you need to self- isolate, please inform your line manager in the usual way, do not attend work and carefully follow the guidance to isolate yourself at home for the whole seven days.
The college will remain open in line with national guidance, however we have put any educational visits overseas on hold for the rest of the academic year and we are keeping a daily watch on developments to determine whether or not UK educational visits will still go ahead. If any member of staff is concerned about UK visits please speak to your line manager.
It’s difficult to forecast exactly how the Coronavirus situation will unfold over the coming weeks and months, but what is clear is that we must have robust plans in place and be ready to respond to this rapidly changing situation. A Contingency Group has been set up and is meeting regularly in order to stay on top of developments and advise staff and learners

Updates for learners and staff
All official guidance and updates will continue to be communicated directly with staff and students via email and internal channels. Attached is the current advice for parents and carers and below is the NHS Direct Wales Self-Assessment Symptom Checker.
