The course is suitable for people with varying degrees of sight loss. The course caters for people of different abilities from absolute beginners to those with more knowledge or past experience.
The specialist software available (Jaws or Supernova) has speech and / or magnification. Examples of what is on offer include learning to touch type, word processing, using the Internet or e-mail. Other specialist equipment available includes: Big Keys keyboard and portable magnifier. Course materials are adapted to suit the individual needs of the student.
What Will I Learn?
You will study Agored Cymru units.
No formal academic qualifications required.
Those interested in joining will be invited for an informal chat to discuss their needs, to discover the best way of working for them and also to gain an understanding of the different settings they may require on the computer, relevant to their particular eye condition.
Assessment is by means of a portfolio, compiled each lesson. There are no examinations.
