The Level 2 Diploma is part of the Modern Apprentice Framework (Technical Certificate). This is a one year course for learners who have successfully completed the Level 1 Diploma in Brickwork and wish to progress in the industry.
What Will I Learn?
You will carry out practical tasks and gain the underpinning knowledge in bricklaying and block laying, the setting out of basic structures, Feature brickwork, Safe and efficient working practices and Basic working platforms (scaffolding).
You will also complete your Employee Rights and Responsibilities (E.R.R) and Abrasive Wheels Certificates.
You will also be required to complete the Construction Site Safety - Health & Safety test; which will then enable you to apply for the Site Safety Card (CSCS card) required to work on a construction site.
You will be required to have completed a Level 1 Diploma in Brickwork. You must be working within the industry.
You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required. You will also need Essential Skills in Communications, Application of Number and ICT at level 1.
You will be assed through a range of practical tasks, projects and written assignments, and an external online, multi-choice examination will be completed.

Purchase of steel toe capped boots, overalls and a course text book is required for this course. Please discuss this at interview stage with a tutor after you have applied.
