Course Information
This course is designed for people who are interested in a career in the travel and tourism industry.
What Will I Learn?
You will study a variety of units such as; UK and European Destinations, Holiday Planning and the Business Sector of Travel and Tourism.
You will enjoy a broad range of activities within the course such as visits, guest speakers and use of facilities both on and off site. In addition to these units, you will study the Essential Skills of Communication, Application of Number and ICT.
Entry Requirements
You will require 4 GCSEs at grades A*- D including Maths/Numeracy and English/Welsh, or completion of a full vocational programme at Level 1 which must also include GCSE Maths/Numeracy & English/Welsh at grades A*-D or equivalent such as Level 1 ESW Communications and Application of Number.
You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.
Assessment
To gain the Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism you must complete a range of written and practical assessments. Assessment will cover practical skills, oral questioning, assignment work and written questions. You will receive feedback on your progress throughout the course.

Career Progression
- On successful completion of the course and gaining a distinction grade, you may be able to progress to the BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Travel and Tourism or the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Air Cabin Crew. You could seek employment in a range of jobs in such places as tour operators, airlines, travel agents, airports, tourist attractions and theme parks
