Course Information
This qualification offers you the opportunity to develop a career in maintaining and managing ICT resources. You will gain the knowledge and understanding required to support and maintain computer systems.
What Will I Learn?
The core units of the course will allow you to attain City and Guilds Level 3 Diplomas in “ICT Systems Support” and “ICT Systems and Principals for IT Professionals".
The units studied will include Customer Care, Hardware Maintenance, Health and Safety, Server Client Networking and Software Installation
You will also complete 25 days of work placement throughout the year where you will gain valuable work experience. Opportunities will be available for you to participate in World Skills competitions.
Entry Requirements
You will require a minimum of 5 GCSE's grades A* to C of which at least one must be Maths or English or Welsh First Language. Or a Level 2 qualification in Systems Support with grade C in Maths or English. Suitable Industrial Experience will also be taken into consideration.
You will also be required to undertake a short test to determine your current abilities in mathematics.
Assessment
Each topic is delivered using a combination of taught sessions, demonstrations and practical activities. You will complete controlled assessments issued by City and Guilds, these assessments will be completed under supervision in the classroom.

Career Progression
- Upon successful completion of the course you will be prepared for employment in an IT support or servicing role. You will also achieve 80 UCAS tariff points which will allow opportunities for progression to further and higher levels of study.
