The accounting qualification is supported with the study of essential skills in either digital literacy or employability, vital to your next step in your accounting career.
You will require a Level 2 Certificate in Accounting to at least a Merit grade. Alternatively, applicants without the Level 2 will need to provide evidence of a thorough understanding of bookkeeping principles gained through prior study or work experience and 5 GCSE's at grades A-C including English Language/Welsh and will need to attend an interview with an AAT tutor.
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required. At Coleg y Cymoedd we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your assessments. The better your grades the more options you will have and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher-level course.
All learning areas of this qualification are assessed using AAT designed Computer Based Assessments. Essential Skills assessments are time constrained in-class assessments under exam conditions and/or computer-based assessments.
Successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting will allow you to progress onto the Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting. Alternatively, the level 3 Diploma in Accounting carries UCAS points that can be use for entry to a university course.
AAT registration and membership fees are payable for this course. These fees will be discussed at interview stage.
