English Course for Speakers of Other Languages
Is this course for you?
If you speak English as an additional language (ESOL) and want to improve your English skills, then this is the course for you.
You can improve your knowledge and skills in:
- Speaking and Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
There are five levels of study and you will have an initial assessment to make sure you start on the course that’s right for you. If you have ESOL certificates, bring them to your assessment.
The levels we offer are:
-Pre Entry (for complete beginners)
-Entry 1
-Entry 2
-Entry 3
-Level 1
-Level 2
All our courses are part time, with both daytime and evening classes available. You can choose to study reading, writing and/or speaking and listening.
Our courses may involve a mix of online and classroom teaching.
During the course you will take Agored Cymru and Ascentis ESOL qualifications.
What do you need to apply?
No formal qualifications required - you will be given a short, initial assessment
Please bring some photo ID to the assessment
Please bring any ESOL certificates you have to the assessment
Further Steps
- You may apply for a new job
- You may wish to apply for a vocational college course, for example hairdressing or catering. (You need to be of at least Level 1 standard to apply for a vocational course)
- If you have completed Level 2 Writing, you can apply for the GCSE English course at college
