The Certificate in Accounting comprises: Introduction to Bookkeeping and Principles of Bookkeeping controls, which give a foundation in financial accounting; Principles of Costing, covering the basics of the preparation of costing information that is used in Management Accounting; and The Business Environment, an introduction to the wider aspects of business and the economy.
Due to the demanding nature of the AAT examinations you will need one of the following to join the course: GCSE Welsh First Language or English language and GCSE maths or numeracy grades A*-C or Be working in or have worked in an Accounting /Finance role for at least three months orUndertake and pass an entry assessment (designed to assess your ability in written English and simple calculations).
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required. At Coleg y Cymoedd we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your assessments.
All learning areas of this qualification are assessed using AAT designed Computer Based Assessments.
Successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting will allow you to progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.
