Learners from Level 3 Health and Social Care at Coleg y Cymoedd are celebrating a brilliant set of university offers, progressing onto courses including Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedic Science and Occupational Therapy.
From classes in both the Aberdare and Nantgarw campuses, learners have secured places at universities including Swansea, Bristol, Cardiff, Worcester and the University of South Wales.
For many, college has been a big part of building confidence and figuring out their next step.
Sienna, who started on Level 2 and is now progressing to the University of South Wales to study Nursing, said: “College has helped me grow in confidence and believe in myself. Becoming a paediatric nurse has always been my passion.”
Tia-Louise Griffiths, who has offers from Swansea and Bristol to study Midwifery, said: “College helped me build the confidence and skills to go after my dream.”
Erin Gregory, who received all five of her university choices, added: “None of this would be possible without my tutor and the opportunity to do placements.”
Assistant Head of School for Health and Social Care, Caitlin Broom-Janaway said: “Both groups should be extremely proud of themselves. They’ve put so much into their time at college, not only in their studies but also the practical placement elements, and it’s been amazing to see them grow in confidence and go on to secure these opportunities. I’m very proud of them all.”
A huge well done to all learners on their next steps.
