The APMG AgilePM Foundation course offers an introduction to both the Scrum framework and Agile Project Management (AgilePM). This course is ideal for individuals aiming to apply Agile principles in both product development and project management settings.

What will I learn?

  • Understand the key principles and roles of the Scrum framework

  • Learn to apply AgilePM principles to manage entire projects, from initiation to delivery
  • Develop skills in backlog management, sprint planning, and prioritisation using MoSCoW
  • Manage project risks, governance, and stakeholder communication in Agile environments

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However, participants with prior exposure to project management concepts or basic Agile principles may benefit more from the content.

Assessment

Closed book multiple choice exam, lasting 40mins. 50 questions in total, requiring 30 marks to pass (60%)

Career progression

The APMG AgilePM Foundation certification provides a strong starting point for careers in Agile project environments. It can lead to roles such as Project Coordinator, Scrum Team Member, or Junior Project Manager. With experience or further certification, progression to positions like Agile Project Manager, Scrum Master, or Product Owner is common. Over time, professionals may advance into senior roles such as Agile Coach, Programme Manager, or Delivery Lead; especially when combined with other Agile or project management qualifications.

  • Plan, track, and control Agile projects while maintaining regulatory compliance

  • Effectively use AgilePM in multi-team environments and ensure successful project delivery
