Overview

The ABC Scrum Product Owner course provides a comprehensive understanding of the Scrum framework and the responsibilities of the Product Owner. It prepares individuals to effectively fulfil the role by covering Agile principles, the Scrum Guide, and essential techniques. Ideal for aspiring or current Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and anyone working with Scrum teams, the course ensures participants can confidently manage product value and stakeholder expectations within Agile environments.

What will I learn?

Understand the Scrum framework, including Agile fundamentals and Scrum theory
Confidently perform the Product Owner role, including managing the Product Backlog, setting Product Goals, and creating Product Roadmaps
Apply techniques for forecasting, backlog refinement, and stakeholder collaboration
Support empirical product development and facilitate effective Scrum events

Living in Wales

Plus, one of the following:

Employed (inc. agency & zero hour contracts),
Self-employed,
Full-time carer
Prisoner on day release

Entry requirements

There are no formal prerequisites for enrolling in the ABC Product Owner course. However, it is recommended that learners have:

Some experience working on Agile projects, or
Previously attended an Agile Project Management Foundation or Practitioner course and/or Scrum Master course

This helps participants better understand and apply the Scrum Product Owner concepts covered in the training.

Assessment

Closed book multiple choice exam, lasting 40mins. 50 questions in total, requiring 37 marks to pass (74%)

Career progression

The ABC Scrum Product Owner certification enables progression into roles such as Product Owner, Product Manager, or Agile Business Analyst, and can lead to senior positions like Head of Product or Agile Coach with experience.

Course dates will be discussed directly with the training provider upon successful completion of funding application. Any course dates arranged with the training provider prior to funding being secured may not be honoured – Course dates will only be confirmed once funding has been approved.
