Overview

Cert-ain certified ACS HTRLP2 assessment for closed-flue (room-sealed) gas fires. Confirms competence to install, commission, service and fault-find in line with current gas safety legislation and industry standards/manufacturers’ instructions. Successful completion supports Gas safe registration for this appliance category (scheme rules apply).

What will I learn?

Appliance types & principles: room-sealed/balanced & power-flue gas fires, components and safety devices
Siting & installation: clearances, hearth/surround considerations, terminals, condensate (where applicable), flue routing & integrity checks
Commissioning: gas rate/burner pressure, combustion analysis (FGA), control/safety checks, ventilation verification, user instructions & handover
Servicing & maintenance: seals/glass integrity, ignition/electrodes, heat-exchangers, cleaning and replacement parts to MI
Fault-finding: systematic diagnosis using readings/symptoms, rectification and re-test
Safety & compliance: unsafe situations (ID/AR), warning notices, records & documentation

Employed (inc. agency & zero hour contracts), earning under £34,303
Self-employed, earning under £34,303
Full-time carer, earning under £34,303
Prisoner on day release

Entry requirements

Current/within-window HTRLP2 certificate (per scheme rules).

Assessment

Theory: ACS mutli-choice/short answers
Practical: Observed tasks on approved rigs – installation/commissioning checks, FGA tests, servicing procedures, fault-finding, and documentation
Evidence: Completion of required records; oral questioning where necessary

Course dates will be discussed directly with the training provider upon successful completion of funding application. Any course dates arranged with the training provider prior to funding being secured may not be honoured – Course dates will only be confirmed once funding has been approved.
