Overview

Cert-ain accredited ACS sector module for LPG: CCLP1 PD (Permanent Dwellings). Confirms sector-specific competence to work on domestic LPG installations in permanent dwellings and associated outbuildings, in line with current gas safety legislation and manufacturers’ instructions. Successful completion, held alongside Core LPG (CCLP1), supports Gas Safe registration for the LPG – PD sector (scheme rules apply).

What will I learn?

LPG sector principles for permanent dwellings: storage types (cylinders/bulk), siting & separation distances, access and emergency arrangements
Regulators & safety devices: OPSO/UPSO, changeover valves, venting and over-pressure protection (sector application)
Pipework for PD: materials, routing (including external runs), entry points, burial, sleeving and protection
Tightness testing, let-by and purging procedures for LPG in domestic PD settings
Ventilation & flueing requirements for LPG appliances in dwellings; terminal locations & integrity checks
Unsafe situations in the PD sector (ID/AR/NS), isolation, warning notices and records
Documentation & handover: sector-specific records, labels, user guidance

Employed (inc. agency & zero hour contracts), earning under £34,303
Self-employed, earning under £34,303
Full-time carer, earning under £34,303
Prisoner on day release

Entry requirements

Current/within-window CCLP1 PD (per scheme rules)

Assessment

Theory: multi-choice/short answers
Practical: Observed tasks on approved rigs – sector-specific tightness/purging, regulator checks, cylinder/bulk siting principles, ventilation/flue checks, unsafe situations and documentations
Professional discussion/oral questioning where required

Career progression

Additional LPG sectors: RPH (Residential Park Homes), LAV (Leisure Accommodation Vehicles), Boats
Changeover to Natural Gas: CoLPNG1 (LPG -> NG core)
For LPG in commercial/catering settings, appropriate non-domestic ACS modules may be required (scheme rules apply)
