The CompTIA DataX certification is an advanced, vendor-neutral credential designed for experienced data science professionals. it validates the ability to design, build, and optimise machine learning models, apply advanced statistical methods, and integrate AI solutions into enterprise environments. The course combines theoretical depth with hands-on labs, covering the end-to-end data science lifecycle from data preparation and feature engineering through to model deployment, monitoring, and governance. Learners benefit from expert instruction, real-world scenarios, and virtual practice environments that ensure they can apply advanced data science concepts directly in the workplace.
What will I learn?
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Apply advanced statistical methods and data modelling, including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series forecasting
- Design, train, and evaluate machine learning models, using supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning approaches
- Implement feature engineering, data preparation, and model optimisation techniques to maximise performance and accuracy

- 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or advanced machine learning roles
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods, Python or R programming, and data science tools/frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
- Exam time: 165 minutes
- Performance based and multiple-choice style: maximum of 90 questions
- Pass mark: 750 (on a scale of 100-900)
- Closed book exam (i.e. no reference materials are allowed during the exam)
