Overview
CompTIA Project+ gives IT Pros the basic concepts to successfully manage small to medium sized projects. CompTIA Project+ is ideal for IT professionals who need to manage smaller, less complex projects as part of their other job duties but still have foundational project management skills. Project+ is versatile because it covers essential project management concepts beyond the scope of just one methodology or framework.
This five-day instructor led course will provide delegates with the essential knowledge and skills to either manage a project or be an effective, valuable member of the project team. It covers the fundamental steps in any project lifecycle and also addresses the necessary people skills such as effective negotiation, conflict resolution, leadership and team building.
What will I learn?
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Initiate and define project scope, objectives, stakeholders, and deliverables in line with organisational goals
- Develop project plans and schedules, applying resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management techniques
- Manage project execution, including team communication, stakeholder engagement, and quality assurance
- Identify and respond to project risks and issues, using recognised project control methods and change management processes
- Close and evaluate projects effectively, capturing lessons learned, reporting on outcomes, and ensuring knowledge transfer
- Apply project management methodologies and frameworks such as Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches to real-world scenarios

- Either be currently working in a project-based environment or are planning to do so in the near future
- Basic PC and Windows user skills are necessary for successful completion of this course
- Exam time: 90 minutes
- Multiple-choice style: maximum of 90 questions
- Pass mark: 710 (on a scale of 100-900)
- Closed book exam (i.e. no reference materials are allowed during the exam)
The CompTIA Project+ certification validates essential project management skills and provides a pathway into coordinating and leading business and IT projects.
Career progression opportunities include:
- Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, or Junior Project Manager (entry-level project roles)
- Progression to roles such as Project Manager, Business Analyst, or IT Project Lead across industries
