The CompTIA Server+ course prepares participants for the SK0-005 certification exam. It validates the skills needed to install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot server hardware and operating systems in both on-premise and hybrid environments. The course also covers server security, disaster recovery, high availability, and backup strategies, making it ideal for IT professionals aiming to advance in server administrator roles.
Plus, one of the following:
There are no formal prerequisites for taking the CompTIA Server+ certification exam, but it is recommended that candidates have CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent knowledge, along with 18-24 months of hands-on experience working in a server environment. This background helps ensure a solid understanding of server hardware, administration, and troubleshooting concepts covered in the exam.
Closed book multiple choice style exam lasting 90mins. Pass mark is 750 (on a scale of 100-900)
After earning CompTIA Server+, professionals can pursue roles such as server administrator, systems administrator, or data centre technician. With experience and additional certifications like CompTIA Linux+, Cloud+, or Security+, they can advance to positions such as IT infrastructure engineer, cloud systems engineer, or network operations centre (NOC) manager. Over time, this can lead to senior roles like IT operations manager or solutions architect.
