Overview

The CompTIA Tech+ course provides learners with the essential foundational knowledge in IT, serving as an ideal entry point into technology careers or further certifications like CompTIA A+. The course covers core topics such as computing fundamentals, IT infrastructure, software and databases, and basic cybersecurity principles. Participants will also gain practical skills in troubleshooting, IT environment management, and an introduction to emerging technologies like cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI).

Entry requirements

CompTIA Tech+ is aimed at those considering a career in IT and computer-related fields. Consequently, there are no special prerequisites for you to meet to successfully start this course.

It is ideal for those with no previous computer experience considering a career as an IT technician or in IT customer support / helpdesk.

Assessment

Closed book multiple choice exam, lasting 60mins. 75 questions in total, requiring 650 marks to pass (on a scale of 100-900)

Career progression

CompTIA Tech+ is an entry-level IT certification for careers in tech support and can lead to roles in networking, cybersecurity, cloud, or data through further certifications like A+, Network+, and Security+.

Course dates will be discussed directly with the training provider upon successful completion of funding application. Any course dates arranged with the training provider prior to funding being secured may not be honoured – Course dates will only be confirmed once funding has been approved.
