  • Analyse Phase: Identify root causes using fishbone diagrams and the 5 Whys technique. Learn consensus-building approaches and validate findings with statistical methods including box plots, regression, correlation, and hypothesis testing.
  • Improve Phase: Generate and prioritise solutions using brainstorming, Force Field Analysis, Pugh Matrix, cost-benefit analysis, and FMEA. Learn how to test and pilot improvements before full implementation.
  • Control Phase: Develop and implement control plans, standard operating procedures, and monitoring tools like control charts. You’ll also focus on sustaining improvements and embedding continuous improvement into daily operations.

What will I learn?

You will progress through the DMAIC framework with a comprehensive toolkit:

  • Define Phase: Learn how to articulate problem statements, map processes using SIPOC diagrams, and capture the Voice of the Customer. you’ll develop project charters, select projects strategically, and master planning and communication tools to engage stakeholders, using advanced techniques like Value Stream Mapping, SWOT, PESTLE, and team development models (Belbin, Tuckman, Adair).
  • Measure Phase: Understand quality data, identify CTQs, assess the cost of poor quality, and apply process mapping and measurement system evaluations (Gauge R&R). Use statistical tools and Minitab software for Capability Analysis and data validation.
  • Analyse Phase: Uncover root causes using Ishikawa diagrams and 5 Whys. Validate causes using box plots, regression, correlation, and hypothesis testing. Further skills include Design of Experiments (DOE) and advanced analytics in Minitab.
  • Improve Phase: Enhance your leadership with skills in brainstorming, conflict management, decision-making tools (Force Field Analysis, Pugh Matrix), and Future State Mapping for optimised processes.
  • Control Phase: Learn to implement robust monitoring systems, mentor teams, apply advanced sustaining improvement techniques, and embed SOPs for lasting success.
