Overview

Formerly the IEMA Level 5 Certificate in Environmental Management. This accredited Level 5 course provides in-depth knowledge and practical skills in sustainability and environmental management, aligned with international standards and professional best practice. It is aimed at those working in or aspiring to specialist roles in sustainability or environmental management, and is ideal for professionals who want to lead positive change in their organisation. Completion leads to Practitioner Membership of ISEP (PISEP).

Funding eligibility criteria

  • Aged 19+
  • Living in Wales

Plus, one of the following:

  • Employed (inc. agency & zero hour contracts),
  • Self-employed,
  • Full-time carer,
  • Prisoner on day release

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, but learners should ideally have completed the ISEP Foundation Certificate or have some prior knowledge of environmental and sustainability topics. A good standard of English and analytical thinking is recommended.

Assessment

The course is assessed through 3 written assignments, submitted online. These test your ability to apply course knowledge to real-world scenarios and demonstrate professional-level insight.

Career progression

Successful learners can:

  • Gain Practitioner Membership of ISEP (PISEP)
  • Progress towards Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) status
  • Advance into senior sustainability or environmental management roles
  • Support ISO 14001 implementation and corporate sustainability strategy
  • Progress onto ISEP/University-accredited postgraduate qualifications
