Overview

The MS-102 course is designed for IT professionals who manage Microsoft 365 tenant-level services. It focuses on identity, security, compliance, and supporting technologies across hybrid and cloud environments. Learners will gain the skills needed to configure, manage, and secure Microsoft 365 services effectively.

What will I learn?

After completing this course, you will be able to configure and manage a Microsoft 365 tenant, implement identity synchronisation and secure user access, manage Microsoft Defender XDR security services, implement threat protection and compliance solutions, and apply data governance and classification using Microsoft Purview.

Entry requirements

To take the MS-102 exam, you must first earn one of the following certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Messaging Administrator Associate, Teams Administrator Associate, Identity and Access Administrator Associate, or Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate. Recommended skills include understanding of DNS and general IT practices, experience with Microsoft 365 services, familiarity with PowerShell, and knowledge of multifactor authentication (MFA).

Assessment

The exam code is MS-102. It is a 100-minute closed book exam with a pass mark of 700 out of 1000.

Career progression

This certification prepares professionals for roles such as Microsoft 365 Administrator, Cloud Administrator, or IT Systems Manager. With further experience and certifications, individuals can progress to senior roles like Cloud Solutions Architect, Security Administrator, or Head of IT Infrastructure.
