Overview
This course provides a foundational understanding of Microsoft 365, including its productivity applications, intelligent cloud services, and robust security features. It introduces learners to the benefits and considerations of adopting cloud services, focusing on the Software as a Service (SaaS) model and Microsoft 365 offerings. It is designed to support preparation for the MS-900 exam but is not a dedicated exam prep session.
What will I learn?
After completing this course, you will understand the basics of cloud computing and the benefits of SaaS, learn the differences between Microsoft 365 and Office 365, explore Microsoft Azure, compare traditional IT services with Microsoft 365 cloud services, discover how Microsoft 365 supports mobile workforces, and understand how Microsoft 365 handles data security, compliance, privacy, and trust. You will also gain insight into Microsoft 365 subscriptions, billing, and support options.

There are no formal prerequisites for this course. However, a general understanding of IT concepts or business processes is helpful. Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is useful but not essential.
The exam code is MS-900. It is a 45-minute closed book exam consisting of 32 to 43 multiple choice questions. The pass mark is 700 out of 1000.
This certification is ideal for individuals starting their journey with Microsoft 365. It can lead to roles such as IT support technician, cloud services advisor, or Microsoft 365 specialist. It also serves as a stepping stone to more advanced Microsoft certifications and roles in IT administration, cloud services, and digital transformation.
