Entry requirements

The ideal candidate will hold the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals Certification.

You should have:

  • At least 2 years of programming experience
  • Proficiency in programming with Azure SDKs
  • Proficiency using Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, and other tools

If applicants intend to complete any part of this programme online they should ensure that they have a device that is capable of downloading and running the latest desktop version of Microsoft Power BI. The device should

  • Minimum Processor: Intel i3 or AMD Ryzen 3
  • Minimum RAM: 8GB
  • Maximum Age: 5 years

Laptops can be provided to participants who attend the programme in-person.

Assessment

Exam lasting 100 minutes.

Career progression

After undertaking this programme, you could progress onto an Associate Certification including the Microsoft Azure Developer Associate.

Course dates will be discussed directly with the training provider upon successful completion of funding application. Any course dates arranged with the training provider prior to funding being secured may not be honoured – Course dates will only be confirmed once funding has been approved.

Overview

This course is designed for developers who want to build and maintain cloud applications and services using Microsoft Azure. It covers the full development lifecycle including design, development, deployment, security, maintenance, performance tuning, and monitoring. Learners will gain hands-on experience with Azure SDKs, CLI, PowerShell, and other tools to implement compute solutions, create Azure Functions, manage web apps, develop storage solutions, and integrate Azure services and third-party APIs. The course also includes guidance on implementing authentication and authorisation, securing applications with Key Vault and Managed Identities, and using event and message-based models.

What will I learn?

After completing this course, you will be able to develop Azure compute solutions, create and manage Azure Functions, implement and manage web apps, develop solutions using Azure Blob and Cosmos DB storage, implement containerised solutions, configure authentication and authorisation, and secure Azure solutions. You will also learn to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise Azure applications and connect to Azure and third-party services.
