Overview

This certification is designed for professionals who implement, manage, and monitor security for Azure resources across cloud, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. It focuses on security identity and access, platform protection, data and applications, and managing security operations. Learners will gain expertise using tools such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Entra ID. The course aligns with the Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark and prepares candidates to maintain and organisation’s security posture and remediate vulnerabilities.

What will I learn?

After completing this course, you will be able to configure identity and access for Azure environments, implement platform protection including network and host security, manage security operations such as alerts and incident responses, safeguard data using encryption and Azure security services, and apply compliance and governance best practices across Azure infrastructure.

Entry requirements

Learners should have practical experience administering Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments. Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, compute, network, and storage in Azure is recommended. Experience as a Microsoft Azure Administrator and at least one year of hands-on experience securing Azure workloads is advised.

Assessment

The exam code is AZ-500. it is a 100 minute proctored exam with a pass mark of 700 out of 1000. The exam includes scenario-based and interactive components.

Career progression

This certification qualifies professionals for roles such as Azure Security Engineer, Cloud Security Analyst, or Security Operations Specialist. With further experience and certifications, individuals can progress to senior roles like Cybersecurity Architect or Head of Cloud Security.
