Overview

This certification is designed for professionals with subject matter expertise in designing, creating, and deploying enterprise-scale data analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric. The course focuses on building and managing analytical assets such as semantic models, data warehouses, and lakehouses. Learners will gain skills in preparing and enriching data, securing and maintaining analytics assets, and implementing semantic models. The course also covers using Fabric dataflows, pipelines, and notebooks, and emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.

What will I learn?

After completing this course, you will be able to implement a data warehouse with Microsoft Fabric, prepare and transform data for analysis, manage and secure analytics assets, and build semantic models. You will also learn to query and analyse data using SQL, KQL, and DAX, and apply best practices for performance optimisation and governance.

Entry requirements

Learners should have experience in data modelling, analysis, and visualisation. Familiarity with SQL, KQL, or DAX is recommended. Foundational knowledge of data lifecycle processes, relational databases, ETL workflows, and cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure is also beneficial. Exposure to Power BI is helpful for understanding semantic modelling.

Assessment

The exam code is DP-600. It is a 100 minute proctored exam with a pass mark of 700 out of 1000. The exam includes scenario-based and interactive components.

Career progression

This certification qualifies professionals for roles such as Fabric Analytics Engineer, Data Analyst, or Data Engineer. With further experience and certifications, individuals can progress to senior roles like Analytics Architect or Head of Data Strategy.
