Overview

The Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate certification is designed for professionals who use Microsoft Power Platform to simplify, automate, and enhance business processes. This course prepares learners to perform discovery, capture requirements, engage stakeholders, and configure business solutions using Power Platform tools. Participants will gain hands-on experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power Virtual Agents. The course also covers application lifecycle management (ALM), solution integration, and user experience design, enabling learners to build tailored applications and automate workflows in collaboration with solution architects and other team members.

What will I learn?

After completing this course, learners will be able to configure Microsoft Power Platform solutions and apps, manage environments and data using Dataverse, create model-driven and canvas apps, build portals with Power Pages, automate processes with Power Automate, and develop chatbots using Power Virtual Agents. They will also learn to visualize data with Power BI and manage solution integrations. The course includes practical labs and workshops to reinforce learning and prepare for real-world implementation.

Entry requirements

While there are no strict prerequisites, learners should have experience as IT professionals and a working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and its components. A general understanding of data modelling, security concepts, and business process automation is recommended. Familiarity with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, and Dataverse will support success in this course.

Assessment

The PL-200 exam is a proctored certification assessment that lasts approximately 100 minutes. It includes interactive components and requires a minimum score of 700 out of 1000 to pass. The exam evaluates skills in configuring Microsoft Dataverse, creating apps using Power Apps, managing logic and process automation, and administering environments.

Career progression

Professionals who earn this certification can pursue roles such as Power Platform Functional Consultant, Business Applications Specialist, or Solution Designer. With further experience and certifications, career paths may lead to senior roles like Power Platform Solution Architect, Digital Transformation Lead, or Head of Business Applications.
