Overview

This certification is designed for IT professionals who administer Windows Server workloads in both on-premises and hybrid environments. The course prepares learners to deploy, implement, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Server infrastructure using tools such as Windows Admin Centre, PowerShell, Azure Arc, Azure Policy, and Azure Monitor. It covers identity, security, compute, networking, storage, monitoring, high availability, and disaster recovery. Learners will also gain experience integrating Windows Server environments with Azure services and managing virtual machines and containers.

What will I learn?

After completing this course, learners will be able to implement identity infrastructure with Windows Server, manage Windows Servers and workloads in hybrid environments, configure storage services, implement secure infrastructures, and deploy high availability and disaster recovery solutions. They will also learn to migrate workloads to Azure, monitor server environments, and manage virtualization and containers. The course includes modules on Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Group Policy, hybrid identity, and secure administration using tools like Azure Security Centre and Microsoft Defender.

Entry requirements

Learners should have experience managing Windows Server operating systems and workloads in on-premises scenarios, including AD DS, DNS, DFS, Hyper-V, and File and Storage Services. Familiarity with Windows Server management tools, core networking technologies, virtualization concepts, Azure Active Directory, and PowerShell is recommended. Basic knowledge of security best practices, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud technologies will support success in this course.

Assessment

To earn the certification, candidates must pass two exams:

AZ-800: Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure
AZ-801: Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services
Each exam lasts approximately 100 minutes and requires a minimum score of 700 out of 1000 to pass.

Career progression

Professionals who earn this certification can pursue roles such as Windows Server Administrator, Hybrid Infrastructure Specialist, or Azure Systems Engineer. With further experience and certifications, career paths may lead to senior roles like Cloud Infrastructure Architect, IT Operations Manager, or Head of Hybrid Systems.
