Overview

This Cert-ain accredited course is designed for plumbing and heating engineers who install, service, or maintain vented and unvented domestic hot water storage systems. The qualification meets the requirements of Building Regulations G3 (England and Wales) and is recognised by employers, manufacturers, and Competent Person Schemes. Successful completion allows candidates to work on unvented systems and notify installations through a CPS scheme.

Aged 19+
Living in Wales

Plus, one of the following:

Employed (inc. agency & zero hour contracts)
Self-employed
Full-time carer
Prisoner on day release

Entry requirements

Heating or plumbing qualification – minimum level 2.

Assessment

Theory assessment (open book multiple choice or written test). Practical assessment covering commissioning and safety checks. Completion of compliance documentation.

Career progression

Qualify to work on and self-certify unvented hot water installations
Enhance employability within the plumbing and heating industry
Progress to further training in renewables, heat pump systems, or hot water design

Course dates will be discussed directly with the training provider upon successful completion of funding application. Any course dates arranged with the training provider prior to funding being secured may not be honoured – Course dates will only be confirmed once funding has been approved.
